Small, boutique agency
Background:The agency specialises in positions for accounting and finance. CXC Global was already handling the payroll functions, as the agency did not have the staff to manage it internally.
However, there were additional challenges.
Timesheets were paper-based and time-consuming manual labour had to enter them into systems. Also manual was a spreadsheet used to maintain their contractor database.
Another problem was delays in getting contracts out.
Some contractors complicated things by wanting to be paid weekly, not fortnightly.
Solution:The agency was provided with CXC Global’s innovative web-based extranet portal, MyAgency. Their contractors were given access to an agency-branded portal, called MyCXC.
Through these sites, the timesheet process was automated: they could be completed and approved online. Contracts can now be generated online through a PDF facility. It was also possible to introduce a weekly pay cycle option, providing more choice for contractors. This saved the agency 7 staff hours per week.
Minimal training, provided by CXC Global, was required to use the system.

Background: This company needed technical consultants with sales, marketing and client service skills. So important were these roles, that in 2008 25% of the workforce was contractors.
With the employment market tight, the quality of the contractors was dropping. This wasn’t helped by those contractors being managed by third parties who were not experts in payroll, contractor management or salary packaging.
To add to the challenge, there was a clash between internal and external resources on who should fill positions. Unnecessary costs were being incurred - with internally-sourced contractors even being managed by external agencies.
Solution: CXC Global provided a single, online portal for sign-up and reporting. Agencies were then able to focus on what they do best: the business of recruitment, not admin and payroll.
Thanks to CXC Global’s skilled team and structures, the contractors were kept at arm’s length reducing headcount.
Contractors were better off financially, agencies were freed up to concentrate on filling positions - and the organisation saved an average of $1932 a year per contractor: a total saving of $483,000 overall.
