QLD Floods Charity event
Braving temperatures in excess of 42 degrees Celsius, nine recruitment companies (including CXC Global, a contractor management company) came together on Saturday 5th February to raise funds for the Queensland Flood Appeal.
Coupling unmatched enthusiasm with a wide variation in fitness and adrenalin levels, it was obvious on the day that the salary cap had not been exceeded by most teams. Fortunately St Johns Ambulance where not required on the day, though later reports of bruised egos and scar tissue have been reported.
Regardless of ambient temperature, cool heads remained, with some healthy competitive games of soccer (played in a round robin tournament).
Split into two groups, an average of 7 games where played by all with SkillQuest, in the final, running “ringers” around TRC, clinching first place with a convincible 8 – 1 victory.
It was later agreed in the clubhouse that the event was a great success.
Presentations took place on the following Friday at Chicane on Bond St, Sydney.
Special thanks should go to the sponsors ITCRA, CareerOne, Inspire and CXC Global. A very special thanks goes to Golden Goal at Strathfield Sporting Club who donated the two pitches on the day, Bakers Delight who donated bread for the sausage sizzle and CXC for organisation, logistics, BBQ, catering and trophies.
Teams who competed on the day: CXC Global, Inspire Recruitment Group, SkillQuest, TRC, Precision Sourcing, Ethos, Aurec, PRA and Byron Thomas Recruitment.
To date the donation tally sits at over $10,000 … with donations still coming in.
