With recruitment comes risks: employment risks such as having to provide paid leave, tax, FBT and insurances. Even the risks associated with importing skills from overseas. CXC Global specialises in working with recruitment agencies to minimise these as far as possible.
CXC Global has over 15 years experience specialising in the areas of contractor employment and financial management. Our team of experts have developed a series of innovative structures that protect recruitment agencies, and their contractors.
Some agencies aren’t aware of the risks, or think they’re simply part of doing business.
But the risks are very real. Here are just a few, and how CXC Global can help.
Employment risk Many organisations engage individuals through independent contractor arrangements to avoid the complexities of the industrial relations system. This can be an excellent way to engage resources who are less interested in an employment contract, due to the specific nature of their skills. Australian law is very unclear about the line that exists between traditional employment relationships and the more recent independent contractor concept. Being forced to pay out leave and other employee entitlements to individuals you believed to be contractors would pose significant financial issues for any business. There are a range of measures that can be taken to reduce the risk of individuals you engage being regarded as your employees. CXC Global can provide solutions which substantially reduce the risk faced by organisations in engaging independent contractors or employees. > Back to top
Salary packaging and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) Providing salary packaging benefits to contractors and employees is an excellent way to ensure your salaries remain competitive, and to increase retention and loyalty. However, the tax knowledge, compliance and administrative resources required to make this a reality is often off-putting to organisations. Salary Packaging is a very specific area within an increasingly complex tax system, and most organisations cannot reasonably expect to be across the intricacies of it while maintaining focus on their core business. CXC Global staff are experts in salary packaging and have solutions which can be designed to fit with the requirements of any business, whether it be for contract or permanent staff. > Back to top
Insurances Insurances that deal with the risk of engaging human resources to your business are an important aspect to risk mitigation for any organisation. Legal obligations like workers compensation takes up a considerable amount of time and resources - not to mention the penalties involved if there is a major breach of obligations. Public liability and professional indemnity insurances are very expensive, and are fraught with loopholes and exceptions that make it hard for organisations to be confident of a sure footing in mitigating these risks. The payment of large excesses, and the cost and effort involved in dealing with a legal disputes, is considerable and an unwanted distraction from core business activities. CXC Global gives organisations peace of mind, as many of our solutions work to reduce the cost and risk faced in dealing with human resources. Both through administrative support and systems, and procedures that reduce risk if implemented effectively. > Back to top
Immigration It is, and will be, increasingly difficult to secure the right individuals for some highly skilled roles. Many business have found that recruiting these highly skilled people from overseas is an excellent way to bring the skill set into your business in the short-term, and in the longer term through the training these individuals provide to your existing staff. The use of individuals on visas, though, is an area that many organisations have no experience in managing. The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) requirements can be quite daunting on first inspection, and while these cannot be simply ‘outsourced’, CXC Global has over 10 years experience in assisting in managing the administration and payroll requirements of foreign workers on visas. This includes leave entitlements, managing health insurance requirements, ensuring working hours and minimum salary levels are maintained and the collection of data as required by DIAC for their monitoring reports. CXC Global also partners with Registered Migration Agents to facilitate the legal side of an organisations visa obligations and communications with DIAC. > Back to top
